Hazel Antoinette Bowen, 91, of Wendell, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. She was born on May 27, 1934, in Los Angeles, California to Edward and Lillian Hartwell.

Hazel was married to Harold Simms Bowen, with whom she shared a long and devoted life. Together they raised 5 children and built a family legacy that grew to include 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Hazel was a passionate voice for justice and equality. She fought for women’s rights, civil rights, and environmental protections, believing deeply in fairness, kindness, and the power of ordinary people to make change.

At the same time, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as gardening, sewing, baking, and spending time with her loved ones. Her warmth, faith, and strong convictions touched everyone who knew her.

Hazel will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love of family, her values, and her unwavering spirit.
