Hayley's obituary
One of the world’s most beautiful human beings, Hayley Renee Ackerman, age 33 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 as a result of a snowmobile accident. She was born September 1, 1992 to James Ackerman and Robin Powell and was fiercely loved by many.
Hayley was a 2011 graduate of Neenah High School and went on to attend Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA to study equine science. Hayley graduated with honors from Fox Valley Technical College in December 2024, with an Associate Degree in Forensic Science. She worked as a community service officer for the Appleton Police Department before becoming a sworn officer for the Winneconne Police Department and aspired to work in the K9 unit. She had a profound love and affinity for animals and a natural ability for working with and caring for them. She was currently employed as a receptionist at Walker Family Veterinary Clinic in New London.
Hayley was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an intensely competitive video gamer. She was a skilled aerialist and longtime member of Aerial Dance performing yearly in their shows. In her youth Hayley played soccer and was an avid horseback rider. She joined the 4H club and competed in countless horse shows in all disciplines of riding. Hayley and her dad proudly own HR Stables in Hortonville.
She will be forever missed by her father, Jim (special friend Karen Lind) Ackerman; mother, Robin (Jason Johnson) Powell; and by her boyfriend, Dustin Sommer. She is further survived by her maternal grandparents: Jim and Carol Powell; paternal grandparents: Kay Petersen and Robert (Betty) Ackerman; uncles: Brian (Sharon) Powell, Sharon's brother Mike McMahon, Jody (Gloria) Ackerman; and aunt: Mary (Jim) Cowling; as well as by her cousins: Ben, Laura, and Jim, and their families. She also leaves behind her precious four-legged babies, most importantly her beloved Australian Cattle dog, Mya who was the center of her universe, three cats: Jinx, Ashe, and Ahri, and two horses: ShyAnn and Desi.
