In Loving Memory of My Mother, Hattie Beatrice Moore
January 23, 1939 – June 3, 2023

Dear Family, Friends, and Loved Ones,

Today, I write with both sorrow and gratitude as I honor the life of my beloved mother, Hattie Beatrice Moore. She was more than just my mother—she was my first teacher, my guiding light, and the keeper of our family's love and traditions.

Born in Greensboro, Alabama, in 1939, my mother learned early on what it meant to work hard, to persevere, and to lean on faith through every trial. She never wavered in her belief that God's love was meant for all, and she spent her life ensuring that everyone she met felt that love.

As her son, I had the blessing of witnessing her strength firsthand. She made sacrifices so that my brother Danny and I could have better opportunities. She instilled in us values that we carry to this day—faith, kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. Even in the face of hardship, my mother's spirit never faltered. She faced life with courage, and when lung cancer tested her body, her faith never wavered.

She found joy in simple things—in tending her garden, in serving at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, and in being surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Every hug, every prayer, and every word of wisdom she shared shaped the lives of those she touched.

Although her physical presence is no longer here, her love and guidance remain with me, our family, and all who had the honor of knowing her. I will forever hold her in my heart, and I will continue to live by the lessons she taught me.

Rest peacefully, Mama. Thank you for everything.

With love,
Kamau Lizwelicha
