Harvey's obituary

Harvey John Brandsey passed peacefully on Wednesday morning January 13, 2021 at the age of 86. He will be greeted at heaven's gates by his younger sister, Mildred, and the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Marianne Dryzgula Brandsey. He is survived by his three daughters: Sharon Brandsey Lantz, Karen Brandsey Garton, Pamela Brandsey Dempsey, seven grandchildren: Joshua, Rebekah, Laura, Christopher, Eric, David, and Colin, four great-grandchildren: Easton, Elliot, Annaliese, and Ezekiel, and countless other family and friends who all have a piece of him inside of their hearts.
Harvey served over 20 years in both the Navy and the Air Force, and within that time was a Korean War Veteran. He went on to work for USPS and the City of Poquoson School System, along with having a successful antique restoration business. He was also a master craftsman, with his carvings on display across the US, especially in churches. He was a devoted Christian, raising his family at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, retiring to Glebe Episcopal Church with his wife, and finally as a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.
He loved his family and friends, nature (he never met an animal who he couldn't persuade to enjoy his company), carving, a good laugh and the gospel of John. He will be greatly missed but his legacies will be carried on for generations to come. Due to the Covid Pandemic a small service will take place. He will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his beloved wife at Albert G. Horton Veteran's Cemetery.
