Harriet Sue's obituary

Harriet Sue Avery Bigelow, 79, passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus, her Savior, on July 25, 2023. She was born in Humboldt, NE on September 16, 1943 to Jesse and Jean Avery, who both preceded her in death. Sue was the beloved wife and wonderful help meet of Laverne Bigelow for 58 years. They resided in Greenville and Taylors, SC all of their married life, where they raised 3 children, and have been faithful grandparents to a growing number of grandchildren. Sue was the devoted mother of Debbie (married to Rob) Hitt, Julia (married to Michael) Fedele and Jonathan (married to Jeana) Bigleow. Her grandchildren who were loved of and by her are: Jenny (married to Callum) Horncastle, Jesse, Hannah, Emily and Justine Hitt; Michael and James Fedele; Etta, Phineas, Judah, Abel, Amissa, Abigail, Julianna, Enoch and Joshuah Bigelow. Sue is survived by her five siblings: Elaine Croston, Dan (Debbie) Avery, Vivian (William) Freeman, Virginia (Ed) Anderson and Cindy (Richard) Andrews, along with many nieces and nephews. She also had many nieces and nephews and close friends that will greatly miss her. She is remembered for her loving, humble and serving heart. A private burial service was held by the family. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on August 11, 2023 at 6 pm at Tyger Baptist Church, refreshments to follow. 2768 SC-414, Taylors, SC 29687.
