Harriet E. Hilton, age 85, life resident of Orwell, New York passed away on July 4, 2019 at home after an extended illness. Harriet was born March 28, 1934 in Orwell, the daughter of Ernest Deforest and Hazel Mae Stevens. She attended Sandy Creek High School and married Jack E. Hilton in 1951. Harriet was married to her beloved husband for 50 years when he passed away in 2002. She served as Orwell Town Clerk for 29 years and was a member of the Orwell Union United Methodist Church. Harriet devoted her last years to sewing children’s clothing for those in need and participated in missionary service in Costa Rica. Surviving are one son, Daniel Hilton and his wife Jeanne of Sahuarita, Arizona, a sister E. Amy Johnson of Sparks, Nevada, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Harriet was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.
