Hattie was a wonderful friend and colleague who experienced life with an infectious enthusiasm. We were colleagues and friends. Working with her was a delight. Going to the opera with Hattie was always a special treat. We attended opera mostly at the Metropolitan, but occasionally at other venues. You haven't truly experienced opera until you have seen "Jerry Springer, the Opera" with Hattie. And that's different from almost anybody else I know.
In response to "What made Hattie different from most people you know?"
Such a loss. What a fabulous human being. We all need more Hatties.
Smart, funny - boy, did she have game. To the extended family: after reading the obituary it's obvious how much she meant to all of you. I'll miss her quick smile and thunderous laugh. Thinking of Hattie.
