I had the privilege of making him a Grandpa. Since I was born the day before his birthday, I always felt special because we celebrated our birthdays together. My favorite memories of Grandpa is when he helped us out on the farm in the summer. I would rake the hay and he would bail. I would try so hard to keep the rows straight for him so he could keep the bailer steady. Then at the end of the day, Andrea or I would run to get him a beer before supper. And on really special days we would get to ride home with him in his little red truck!
I loved to listen to Dad talk and laugh about growing up on his parents farm and all the shenanigans he did with friends and family later in life!  I have fond memories of helping dad with various things on the farm: changing the blade on the combine, riding on the tractor with him to"open" the hay field (cut hay), driving the tractor when we baled hay and how he hollard to stop (lol!), and of course, listening to and watching him and our dog Ralph dance to polka music while milking cows!  Priceless!

I hope you have fond memories of our Dad that you would be so kind as to share on this site!  I and the rest of the family would really enjoy hearing  them!

Thank you all for your support during this difficult time. It is really appreciated!
