Harold's obituary

Harold Dee McWhirter, Jr., 63, passed away at Shasta Regional Hospital in Redding, Ca, surrounded by his family. Harold passed away on January 16th, 2025 after battling congestive heart failure.

Harold was born on June 20th, 1961 in Sacramento, Ca, to Mary and Harold McWhirter Sr. He graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, Ca. He spent most of his adult life living in Cottonwood, Ca as a long haul truck driver. He loved the open roads and beautiful sights. He also spent sometime as a water tender on wild fires all across California. Harold enjoyed spending quality time with his step childern and grandkids, teaching them what life is all about.

One of his greatest lessons was to not take life so serious all the time and enjoy a cold beer. Harold enjoyed gold panning, fishing, and using his metal detector. He loved anything that had to do with nature. Harold also loved going on trips with his wife, Christine. Harold was a person people could count on to help them when he could. His personality brought laughter and joy to everyone he encountered and his passing will be mourned by those who knew and loved him.

Harold is survived by his wife, Christine McWhirter of Cottonwood, Ca; three step children, Trina Fee, Nicole Koeller, and Ashley Pottorf; 8 grandkids; his brother Steve McWhirter of Chico, Ca; and his mother Mary Noble and stepfather Jack Noble of Fortuna, Ca.

Celebration of life to be held on Monday, February 17th, 2025 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m at the Cottonwood Community Center in the North Hall in Cottonwood, CA.
