Harlem “Harley”'s obituary
Harley Farmer, age 28, passed away on February 28, 2026, following a long and complicated battle with chronic heart failure. Harley was born on February 24, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His parents include his dad, Noel Farmer of Kent, WA; his mom, Stephanie McIntyre of Omaha, NE; and stepmom, Mary Farmer of Clearfield, UT. His aunt Joy Medina was also a mother to him, as she took him in her home and family for the last three years of his life in Surprise, AZ.
Harley has always been a big little kid. He loved Pokemon, Lilo and Stitch, Harry Potter, Marvel characters and Superheroes. He had a sweetness and innocence to him that never changed no matter what challenges he faced. Even as a young adult, he still loved stuffed animals and cartoons. He had a particular love for Lilo and Stitch and the meaning of Ohana, "Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind."
Harley spent the majority of his childhood in Utah, living in the Clearfield area. He then moved to Arizona for a few years, followed by a move to Iowa, where he graduated high school from Denison Job Corps. Harley loved his time at Job Corps and the many friends he made. He spent his young adult years in Utah, New Mexico, and finally Arizona. He met many lifelong friends in each of these places. He worked several jobs, but the most meaningful was his last job as a before/after school program counselor. As a big little kid himself, he loved playing games and joking around with the students. They called him "Mr. Harley" and he loved to come home and tell stories about the funny things the kids did.
Harley was growing in his membership and activity in the LDS church. In the last few years of life, he obtained the priesthood and went through the temple, bringing significant meaning to his life. He was actively involved in multiple Young Single Adult wards and made many true friends who supported and loved him. Harley was blessed to also have amazing church leaders that were there to help in any way they could, including ministering to him in the hospital. In his final days, Harley was surrounded by the abundant love of friends and family.

Harley will always be loved and remembered for his big loving heart. Though his physical heart struggled, his love knew no bounds. His final act of love was staying on life support for three extra days in order to be able to donate several organs. Harley was on the path to obtaining a heart transplant himself and spoke of wanting to be an organ donor. This opportunity proved to be a selfless act of honor and he left this world a true hero, gifting new life to multiple recipients.
