God has called Home another great soul who lived with grit and grace, and leaves behind a beautiful wife and the legacy of two beautiful generations of Khalsa. Condolences to you on his loss...Nam Kaur & Siri Atma Singh
Hari Singh was always an older spiritual brother to me; kind, encouraging, and uplifting when I shared time with him and Hari Kaur at solstices. I always remember a story about his dedication to daily sadhana; after a car accident his sadhana was delayed until after noon, but of course he found solice in that refuge of daily connection to himself and Guru.
Condolences to his dear wife Hari Kaur and their family at this time of loss, deep remembering and great appreciation for a life well lived.
"MSS Hari Singh Khalsa...Bowing in thanks to you; for all your exemplary service to God, Guru and this world. Your love of Dharma and your great sadhana gave you the gift as Sikh, to stand for diversity and unity and not tribalism. With love and devotion you served your Master as well. May someone carry this banner, you courageously held with a strength & so valiantly. What a kindness and sweetness; as well as warrior steel you represented. Bowing to your grace. You are one of the best Guru created as a pioneer of the West; for all. The Dharma will never forget you; as we stand on the shoulders of such a legacy. So Grateful for all the years of fun and seva in the Florida Sangat together. Love, prayers and all comfort to you, Hari Kaur and the entire blessed family, that love him so intimately and personally. Akal, Akal, Akal son of Guru. Soar to your true home & with the peace you spread here on this Earth."
Hari Singh answered the Siri Singh Sahib’s call in early 1973 and moved his beautiful family from a very comfortable life in warm, sunny Florida to take over a failing ashram in freezing Denver, Colorado. His first order of business was to instill a military style discipline on the motley crew of hippies and others who lived in the ashram and ran Hanuman’s Conscious Cookery. Most freaked out and were gone in a week. I well remember Hari Singh singlehandedly running the kitchen, cooking, filing orders and doing dishes while 9-year-old Madonna (OngKar) ran the dining room with as much aplomb as a professional waitress 3 times her age. I honestly don’t know how they did it. Within a few months they had stabilized the business, attracted a new group of people to the ashram and built their foundation on a strong sadhana.
I will always be grateful to Hari Singh for his example of leadership, his courage in confronting challenges and for teaching me the value of sadhana. He was a man of integrity, one-pointed commitment to the teachings of the Siri Singh Sahib and a true soldier saint. Thank you for my many lessons learned as you served as my mentor and for your support and love as a valued friend.
My condolences to Hari Kaur and your beautiful family. You and Hari Singh are always in our hearts.
Darshan Singh and I send you and your wonderful family much love. Our prayers are with all of you, and of course with Hari Singh as he makes his journey home. May the Light of the Gurus be with you all, to give you strength and inspiration.
He was the Best - and was always willing to share his thoughts about anything he was passionate about. He was one of my mentors for all things around 'keeping us safe and secure'. May his legacy of courage, commitment to his sadhana and nobility, continue to be an inspirataion to all of us!!
Hari Singh was one of the first to answer the Guru's call here in the West, and his strength, grace, and commitment were an inspiration to all who were blessed to know him. Hari Singh is one of the men and women on whose shoulders sit the foundations of our beloved Dharma. We will miss his quiet smile and his steadfast service, but we will never forget him
Dearest family, God bless your husband and father Hari Kaur and Ong Kaur and Sat Kartar Singh. I developed such a love for Hari Singh during KWTC and the marching unit. What a joy it was to share this experience with him! A great soul and I am the blessed one to have shared a small time on this planet with him. Love you all and many hugs. God bless Hari Singh...oh fearless one...as he makes his journey home xoxox Davi Kaur
Our sincere condolences to Hari Kaur and her family. I feel a depth of gratitude and love for Hari Singh. He is the reason I am safe and sound in the embrace of our loving Dharma. I will treasure, always, the memories of his love, and kindness to me, including his one-to-one counsel and his famous Sadhanas in Denver. Devmurti and I send all our love and prayers to your beautiful family.
(Would have put "mid 80s" as the year if possible !) Sat Nam: I did not know Hari Singh on a personal level but I have always been grateful for his dedication to bringing our children to New Mexico Military Institute when "high school" In India, at the time, was untenable. It was an inspired move and my daughter's - Chandra Kirn Kaur - experience at NMMI was excellent on so many levels. The experience was a lightening rod at the time in the Dharma but I for one bow my head in gratitude for it. To be able to convince this school to (at least try) to cook the foods we believe in, to get them to accept Sikh Dharma's rehit so 30+ of our "about to be in high school" children could attend, is a testament to the deep convictions Hari Singh carried. So "thank you" dear son of Guru Ram Das and dear student of Siri Singh Sahib ji. May sweet Peace surround all his family & friends.
I have fond memories of Hari Singh “helping” us run through the hills of Espanola during KWTC. He was a beautiful example of keep up and his love for the Siri Singh Sahib and Sikh Dharma was so deep and inspiring! I send all my love and healing prayers to Hari Kaur and his entire family. I was fortunate enough to be friends with Hari Singh for many decades. I'd always get a 'Hello, Bro!' when we spoke on the phone. You'll be missed. --RamDas Singh

Another piece of my Heart goes...I'm realizing the unknown depth of others and ourselves is infinite. Hari Singh what a Divine Man of Integrity, Smiles & Discipline. Many Solstices seeing your Nobility beside The Siri Singh Sahib. Hari Kaur your Divine Light...your Beautiful Family and friends and ALL YOU HAVE TOUCHED. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE. You will be Greatly missed. MahanKirn Khalsa Sr.
Sat Nam. Hari Singh was a great teacher and inspiration. We go back a long way. I spent a year in Denver at their local ashram with my family in the 70's. His family have always been very dear and inspiring to me. Through example he taught me the value of a stable Sadhana. Hari Singh remained very devoted to Yogi Bhajan and his teachings. He was a soldier saint. His heart was very big. He and his wife Hari, always greeted me with respect and kindness throughout these many years. I deeply appreciate his presence in my life.
Sat Nam, Dear Khalsa family. Hari Singh was in inspiration for those who sought discipline in their lives. Some members of Sat Tirath Ashram in Kansas City have shared memories of mandatory after-breakfast runs in CO. They were inspired about ashram security, since Hari Singh took keys away from residents who left the door unlocked. He was a man of great integrity and conviction. Akaal Akaal Akaal
Sat Nam, Hari Singh & Hari Kaur were always two of the kindest, funniest, generous, inspiring & most hospitable folks I have had the pleasure of knowing in the Dharma. I know Hari Singh is lining everyone up to march in perfect sovereignity & dignity straight into the welcoming Court of the Gurus. So Much Love, Blessings & Prayers to you Hari Kaur & your entire wonderful family, Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa; Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh! Amrit Kaur/Albuquerque 🙏🙏
Sat Naam, OngKar Kaur, Sat Kartar Singh, and to all of your family. I know how difficult it was when my own father left his physical body. Even a life well lived leaves a gap behind that takes time to mend. May the transformation of the generations enable you to imbibe the grit and grace of your father's spirit, and share it with the generations to follow. Love and blessings. Ek Ong Kaar Kaur
Blessings and love to you all from New Mexico. I will never forget Hari Singh at KWTC where we drilled and marched and sang wonderful little songs to help us keep time. He helped us keep up and many are still keeping up to this day! Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru! Sarb Jit Kaur
Sending love to your whole family as we remember one of the pioneers of this Dharma, who raised 2 dear, saintly children and was beloved to Hari Kaur. He gave so much. May Guru take him lovingly and fill you all with comfort and light. Love and hugs, Mata Mandir and GuruGanesha
