Hank's obituary

Hank Williams DeoGracias Sr. (68 years old) born December 16, 1951 native of Saint Benard, Louisiana. Hank stepped into Glory approximately 4:34 pm on May 9th at Iberia Medical Center. Rev. John Neel will be officiating a prayer service with a grave site gathering at a later date. Hank was born the son of Adeline Naquin and Orfilio DeoGracias, both deceased. C!aire Ann (sister) and younger brother Ricky DeoGracias, also deceased. Hank was previously married to the late Charlene Pelergrin of Chauvan, LA. Survived by present wife, Norma Molinere and youngest son, Shawn Michael DeoGracias residing in Franklin, LA, sisters Clara Ann and husband Samuel K. Jackson residing in Deritter,La and Toni Ann and husband Clyde Hebert Jr. residing in Chauvan, LA. Three daughters, Victory King and Melissa Billot (Brazoria County, TX) Christy and Yancey Rodrigue (Dulac,LA) and two elder sons Hank, Jr. and Chad DeoGracias (Chantelle Trahan-friend) all of Houma, LA. and 13 grand-children and 8 great grand-children.
Hank as a young man worked with his late uncle Ernest Naquin trawling throughout the coastal waters of Louisiana. Hank learned the art of net building from some of the best in the business. He later learned to build various types and patterns of nets used in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.
As soon as he reached the age of 18 he joined the military along with friend Charlie Couville. Hank served as an Hercules Missile Technition stationed at a Missile base in Germany. After fulfilling his military duties he returned to the Louisiana bayou country running crew boats in various Texaco oil fields.
His love for trawling and net building always were a desire of his. In his later life he picked up the hobby of songwriting and teamed up with Majestic Records out of Nashville, Tennessee and recorded and copyrighted six of his songs.
Hank never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand with a big smile, to any and everyone he met. His two favorite foods were hog cracklings and dried shrimp. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his humorous personality. His handicap little dog "Baby Sweet Pea" has been patiently waiting on Hank's arrival.
