Hamp's obituary
With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Hamp Rodriguez-Marzett, who departed this life on June 20, 2025, after a private health battle. He was lovingly surrounded by his devoted wife and children in his final moments.
Born in Higüey, Dominican Republic, on September 29, 1953, Hamp was the cherished son of Esperanza and Joaquin Marzett. Raised with warmth, compassion, and strong values, he carried their legacy of kindness and resilience throughout his life.
Hamp cultivated a deep passion for learning and discovery. This drive led him to Duke University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business during his twenties. His dedication to education and personal growth inspired all who knew him.
Hamp was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and love in his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Selena Marzett, and was a proud father to Daniel, Francis, Gloria, and Maria. He leaves behind a legacy through his 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his stories, laughter, and unwavering support.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Esperanza and Joaquin, and his dear brothers Charley, Mateo, Hugo, and Tomás.
In accordance with Hamp’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held for immediate family only.
Hamp’s legacy is one of perseverance, quiet strength, and deep familial love. His presence will be missed beyond measure, but his memory will live on in the lives he touched and the family he so dearly loved.
In order to respect his wishes a public ceremony will not be held. A private ceremony for his loved ones will take place.
