Hall's obituary
Hall A. Alexander, of Lawrence, KS, D.A.N.C.E.d his way to the other side on March 10, 2024. Hall was born on September 25, 1984 in Ottawa, KS, where he lived until he attended university.
Hall was always the life of the party. Hall’s spirit for life was limitless, his sarcasm was never-ending, and his laugh and smile were truly infectious. He loved biking across Iowa, obnoxious clothing accessories, and the PGA (not that one). Whether it had been one day or five years since you’d seen him last, he hugged you like it could be your last. He had a glint in his eye that made you feel like he truly knew you, even if you had just met. A way of being that was humble and at the same time no nonsense and real. He was a total badass.
His passion for travel took him to the far ends of the earth, often with a DVD of Sister Act in tow. He touched so many of us along the way, always leaving a trail of smiles in his wake. We are all so fortunate to have shared the experiences we had with him, though, he is gone far too soon and with too many friends unmet.
Hall’s love for the Ivory Tower extended beyond his degrees and he devoted much of his early career to The University of Kansas at the Registrar’s Office, advising and supporting (or torturing) countless students over the years.
Hall is predeceased by his loving and rambunctious pets, Phil (cat), Misfit (cat) and Vandal (dog); he is survived by his parents, Jolene and Darwin Alexander (of Joplin, MO), many family members and countless friends around the world.
We will host Hall’s Celebration of Life at the Carnegie Building in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday, March 30th, from 4 - 7 pm. Please join us in sending our dear friend off – of course, in the only way he’d ever approve – with a party and some Kansas BBQ.
