Guy's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Guy Sparks, who departed this life on January 29, 2024 in Vancouver, Washington. Born on September 29, 1978, in Decatur, Alabama - Guy lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and a remarkable dedication to his family.
Guy leaves behind his adoring wife, Carrie Sparks, with whom he shared good times since their marriage in 2004. Together, they welcomed two beautiful children into the world, Bianca and Daniel, who family and friends will make sure they remember their father as an extraordinary role model and their greatest champion.
Guy is also survived by his loving mother, Nancy McCrary, and his grandmother Carolyn McCrary. His absence will also be felt deeply by his two brothers, Bob Sparks and Jeff Jones; his in-laws, Renee and Dan Muxen, and Bruce and Marina Hewson; his uncles Johnny, Rodney and Delmer Sparks; and his uncle and aunt Jim and Becky McCrary. Guy was preceded in death when by his father, Guy Gene Sparks, grandparents Guy Elbert and Shirley Sparks (of whom he was the oldest grandchild) , and grandfather Price McCrary. He also leaves behind numerous cousins.
Known for his big heart and perpetual consideration for others, Guy's thoughtfulness was a beacon of far-reaching love and care. His favorite pastimes included playing video games and watching movies. He always enjoyed going to a local brewery for a great craft beer, and he love traveling however he could - by car, plane or cruise ship. He is best remembered as spinning tales full of humor and wisdom, which provided countless hours of joy to those lucky enough to know him. And in their hearts, they will carry forth his wisdom, particularly the lesson: "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
Among his many accomplishments, the one Guy cherished most was being an amazing father. His devotion and love for his children, their happiness and well-being, were his greatest joy and will forever be remembered.
Guy Sparks was a remarkable man whose legacy of love, care, and passion for life will continue to inspire his family and everyone who had the privilege to know him. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of so many.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3rd from 2 pm to 4 pm at 1413 Lincoln Ave, Vancouver, WA and will also be livestreamed.
