Guy's obituary
Guy was born in 1939 in Virginia to John and Simone Krause. He received his BS degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Tech and worked as an aerospace software engineer for 50+ years on a multitude of projects in the industry. Notable projects included the Apollo missions, the Minuteman missile program, SkyLab, the International Space Station, and the Boeing 787. He married Maureen in Reno, NV and they raised two daughters and a son, Bridget, Michelle, and Shane.
Guy was an avid news follower and was known to send news articles to his children at all hours via email and text which were returned with appropriate eye rolls when needed. Time zones be damned.
Although he was pleased to produce one "level-headed republican" child, he forgave the left-leaning one, because she managed to graduate from medical school and she would "come to her senses" one day.
For years he had been an avid rock and fossil hunter. His fossil hunting included a foray into fossil fuel exploration and an oil well in Kansas that his wife never forgave him for.
His true passion, however, was in the collection of all things historic. He amassed a collection of minutiae on many topics, exquisitely filed, and ready to be picked up by any museum that wants them. You know where to find us.
He had few regrets except for not heeding the advice of one of his daughters to buy MicroSoft stock in 1986.
Dad, you will be sorely missed.
Since Guy thought a funeral for him would be a colossal waste of money, his family will be celebrating his life around the dinner table with a fine bottle of Irish Whiskey. May the road rise up to meet you. We'll take the Mustang out for a spin with the top down for you.
