It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bella's Syrian hamster, Gus Pearson, a dearly beloved family member. Gus's life, though short, was filled with love, laughter, and joy. Born in 2022 and departed from us on August 11, 2023, Gus left a mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He passed away peacefully in his cage. 

Gus was well-known for his charming and gentle demeanor. His only visit to the vet's office on August 9, 2023, was marked by his calm and friendly mood even when he was unwell. His innocence captivated everyone, and he was  described as "chill" and "calm." Sadly, he was sick, and no medicine in the world could have prevented what happened to him. 

Always an active and playful companion, Gus had a penchant for games involving hiding food in his cheeks, burying food in his cage, and climbing up anything he could. He also took pleasure in long naps, cuddling in Bella's bed, and stuffing his adorable cheeks. A lover of Carnival hamster blend, strawberry drops, wooden blocks, and special treats from his loving mom, Gus also enjoyed a refreshing sip of water from his bottle.

A music connoisseur, Gus enjoyed listening to everything his owner Bella did, including boygenius and Taylor Swift. He was often found watching Grey's Anatomy with Bella, and he admired Bella's artistic talent, appreciating her many drawings, paintings, resin art, diamond art, and coloring pages.

Exercise was an important part of Gus's routine, and he was fond of running endlessly in his wheel and burrowing deep in his cage, making intricate paths only he knew how to maneuver. He loved colorful things and was particularly fond of his confetti paper bedding.

Gus was a Syrian hamster; an epitome of kindness, friendliness, and was often described as cuddly. Through his love, he taught us that love can be strong, even from a creature that was less than a pound. Gus was Bella's first hamster and forever holds a special place in her heart. His enduring legacy of love was his greatest accomplishment.

Gus was deeply loved by his entire family and will be profoundly missed. We seek solace in the fact that his memory will live on in our hearts, and we are certain that Bella will heal from this tremendous loss with time. Rest in peace, little Gus; you were and always will be cherished.
