Although I have not had the pleasure to know Gumercindo, I’ve gotten to share laughs with Idania as she’s talked about many funny and great moments with her grandpa. With the stories shared with me, I know Gumercindo had such a loving, caring, and humorous personality that left such an amazing impact on everyone he knows and loves. My deepest condolences to all of the Ramirez/Galvan family and to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Gumercindo. I wish I had the honor to know you Gumercindo. May you rest in peace. 🙏🏼💗

I had the privilege of meeting Idania’s grandpa last year during her graduation celebration, and was immediately struck by his razor-sharp wit. Over the past few years, I can fondly recall the countless stories Idania has shared with me that left us in fits of laughter. When Idania said, "you wouldn't believe what my grandpa just did/said.", you knew you were in for a good story. I regret not having been able to spend more time with him, but I am confident that there is still a lifetime of stories left to share.

Idania and her family are one of the purest depictions of love, devotion, and support. It is an honor to consider them as my extended family and Idania as a true sister.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Galvan/Ramirez family.
