Gregory's obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Todd Watson, after he fought a long battle of colorectal cancer. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was a cherished father, friend, brother and band member. Todd lived a vibrant life, illuminating the lives of those around him with his love, kindness, and infectious laugh.

He was 59 years old. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 29, 1964 and graduated from Gainesville High School and the University of Georgia, where he was in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  Go dawgs!

Todd was known for his loving and kind disposition. His nurturing spirit was a beacon for those who knew him, and his genuine care for others was a testament to his compassionate soul. He was a man who demonstrated unconditional love in every aspect of his life and taught those around him to do the same. He truly lived out the gospel in the way he always loved his neighbor as himself.

One of Todd’s greatest achievements was raising his four children. His love for them was boundless and he took immense pride in the people they have all become. The values he instilled, the lessons he taught, and the love he showered on them are a reflection of his deep dedication to his role not only as father but also best friend.

In adhering to Todd's outlook on life, we remember his legacy as one of unwavering positivity. He thought that the "glass is always 99% full". His positive perspective was an inspiration to all who were blessed with the gift of knowing and loving him.

We find peace and comfort knowing that he is now with our Heavenly Father. We celebrate a life well-lived, filled with compassion, positivity, love and laughter. His loss leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit will live on till we get to see him again. It’s not goodbye, just see you later.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 15, from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM at his sister's residence, Carol Lynn Upshaw, at 710 Combee Way Roswell, GA 30076.
