We thank Greg every time we go to our North Shore home! He did so many extra things that made the place so special!! We miss having him over for dinner!!

Greg was able to visit and sit with Leonard Sobonja, our high school principal, along with Duane Ege which allowed his children, who were keeping him home, to have some time to be with their families and time to regroup from the challenges of caregiving. This, along with many instances of his loving appreciation of his Tofte/Anderson families, his willingness to encourage, support and be present in all of our lives is truly missed. We are all better people for being loved by Greg and Meg!

I first met Greg, when we were both 19, when he showed me the "safe" way to jump off the cliff and into the Temperance River. I was spending summers in town, and was thrilled to be invited to the Tofte Hoedown(s). Only later did we realize that our parents had also been fast friends in the 1940s and 50s. From then on, as mentioned in so many posts here, with Greg: friendships and good stories never die. Even in the last several years, I couldn't tell a grand-child story without Greg beating it hands down. My love to you Meg, and the whole family!

Our deepest sympathies to the Tofte family. We live in Minneapolis but have always loved the North Shore and built a cabin in 1976 on the Lake in Tofte. Soon we met Greg and became special and loyal friends and whenever we encountered one another, we shared stories about our many common passions. In 2003 Greg extensively remodeled our cabin and we continued to be impressed by his passion for all things good in life. He provided an enhanced cabin that we thoroughly loved and thanked him for. He would often send us DVDs about passionate people like
Man on Wire about the Frenchman Philippe Petit's high wire crossing between the Twin Towers in NYC, or stories about passions for Nature. We will miss seeing this wonderful human being but will always remember him fondly. Scott Berry & Kate Johnson

My condolences to Gregory's family. I first met Gregory when I started to swim at the temperance river first pool. I was a summer resident. Back when blue jean cut offs were the popular swim suits. Greg was a bit older. Always a kind person. Later met him at baseball games with his kids and wife. I think he was the only Tofte who stayed in Tofte his whole life. Did meet and swim with many of his siblings. They are all really great people. Their parents did a great job. Soory again for your huge loss. God bless.

I’m so sorry for your loss of Greg. He was truly a one of a kind in all the best ways. Greg was always so proud of his family. His Grandsons really filled him with joy. I feel lucky we got to spend so much time together on various jobs. Greg will always make me smile when I think of him.❤️

Greg was a friend to all our family; his craftsmanship and kindness highly regarded. One of my last memories of Greg was his showing his phone photo of a really cute grandson (sorry I don't remember which one, I bet you're all cute!) and how excited and in love he was with this little guy. I know your loss is felt deeply. Our prayers to you each in this deep grieving time. Know that you were well loved, and that love lasts into eternity.
