It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gregory Rice, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, on September 5, 2023. Born on September 18, 1947, Gregory lived a vibrant and engaging life, inspiring those around him with his zest for life and undying love for his family.

Gregory is survived by his loving wife, Marla Rice, daughters Karen Holum and Krista Rowles, and his brother Chuck Rice. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ryan Rowles, Spencer Holum, Bethany Holum, Megan Rowles, and Hannah Holum, who will miss their dear grandfather's warm hugs and inspiring stories.

He joins in eternal peace his predeceased wife, Sandra Rice, brother Ron Rice, and grandson Blaze Jones. Each of them hold a special place in his heart and have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms at heaven's gate.

A Celebration of Life for Gregory will be held on October 17, 2023, at 1 PM at West Linn Lutheran Church. All those who loved and admired Gregory are invited to join us in commemorating his beautiful life and the remarkable journey he undertook.

Gregory was an avid supporter of the Oregon Ducks and spent many joyous hours cheering for them. He cherished his time watching football games, a recreational activity that brought excitement and camaraderie into his life. An adventurous soul, Gregory found thrill and solace in scuba diving. It was one of his favorite ways to exercise and allowed him to explore the depth of his courage and curiosity.

Traveling to Hawaii was Gregory's preferred vacation getaway, where he enjoyed the island's serene beauty and tranquil beaches. Locally, his favorite spot was the football field, where he loved to immerse himself in the spirit of the game.

Gregory's life was rich with experiences and love. His memory will continue to live on through his family and every life he touched. His absence is a silent grief, his life a beautiful memory.
