Memories of Greg are his true legacy, as are his family and the love that he, in his own special ways, shared with and for them and others. I loved him as a friend, respected him as a coworker, and admired him as a man dedicated to those he dearly loved. I am sincerely shaken by the news of our collective loss of him, for in his quiet way he left his mark on all of our souls. My heart is truly broken for Kacey, Kelsey, Andie, Lilli, and his entire family. The pain of a parent losing a child, the heart-wrenching sadness of Kacey losing her life’s partner and his daughters now without their dad…and the loss of a brother and uncle and friend…what more can be said? I can only hope that the healing love of the Lord through others and as prompted by the Holy Spirit pours into the lives of those who were closest to him. I trust and believe that as we reflect upon his imprint left in our lives, we will all see the beauty that both is and was his life. Gregory Allen Litz, rest in peace and in the Divine Love of Emmanuel…
“ Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

A few years ago when we were in the middle of one of our hurricanes a giant tree fell on my wife’s car and also blocked my vehicle from leaving the driveway. I had called over to the Litz’s to see about borrowing a chainsaw. You know, like tomorrow when the storm had passed. 20 minutes later I got a text saying we are here. What did that mean? Well I go out to the driveway and Greg had his team of helpers and they were ready to remove parts of the tree and uncover the damaged car - right in the middle of the storm! Greg was at his finest. I looked at him and saw the twinkle in his eye as he was helping a friend. In the middle of the rain. And the wind. I can imagine he wanted to get this done so he would be ready for the next call for help.
He shook my hand, gathered the girls and headed out. That was Greg.
The memory of his intelligence, courage, fun and humility will always stick with me.

I can’t express enough the sorrow and grief your family must be going thru. Greg was a wonderful man that stole the hearts of many of us. I had the pleasure of working with Greg for several years and he was an amazing teacher and person. I wish you guys nothing but blessings, comfort and love in this time ahead. Let the thought of him always with you warm your heart.

I am deeply sorry to learn of Greg’s passing. I didn’t have the pleasure of being close to Greg but our daughters are close. Briannah always spoke so highly of him. She loved his sense of humor and thought he was “THE BEST COOK!” What I was able to witness over the years is what a wonderful dad he was. He loved his girls dearly. Kacey, Kelsey, Andie & Lilli were his everything. We pray for peace & healing for the Litz family during this difficult time.
