Gregory's obituary
Gregory was born on November 15th, 1954 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late William J. Harter and Patricia (Virgin) Bean.
Gregory was employed at K Mart and worked as an electronics manager for ten years until his retirement in 2015.
Gregory was a proud veteran of the US Navy for 13 years and served as an Aviation Ordnanceman. For his service and accomplishments, he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal and The Blue Falcon Award for saving his supervisor.
Gregory was a member of the Greenwood VFW and enjoyed a number of activities including building computers, going fishing, playing with his Boston terrier, Ariel, and watching his favorite sci-fi and war movies. He was a wonderful grandfather and always looked forward to building LEGO constructions with his grandchildren and tending to the turtles and fish tank with his grandson. He will be dearly missed.
Gregory is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah (Ladd) Harter, of Greenwood, Indiana; his three daughters, Michelle Lynn Harter, Kara Sue (Chase Mourey Jr.) Harter, both of Greenwood, Indiana, Lillian Jenice (Josh Logan) Harter, of Beech Grove, Indiana; his ten grandchildren, Courtney, Hayley, Ty, Katherine, Kassondra, MacKenzey, Andrea, Chase III, Gregory, Deborah; his three great-grandchildren, Scarlet, Delanah, Victor; his four sisters, Victoria Trujillo, Karen Harter, both of Greenwood, Indiana, Theresa (John) Whetsel, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sharon Grant, of Colorado.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia, and his brother, Larry Joe Harter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour. Gregory will be laid to rest on Friday, December 18th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health's mandate, all services and visitations are limited to 25 people or less as of December 13th, 2020. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Homes & Crematory ~ Whiteland Chapel.
