GREGORY's obituary
Gregory Lee Fetters, 63, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in the care of his loving family. Born on February 23, 1961, Greg was a bright light to all who knew him, and his passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved him.
Greg's larger-than-life personality could always light up a room, and he had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Whether he was telling stories, laughing, or engaging in a lively conversation, Greg had an innate ability to draw people in with his charm, wit, and infectious energy. In addition to being the life of every party, he was an accomplished athlete. His competitive edge began at Fort Osage High School, where he still holds many records today. After graduating in 1979, Greg became a standout collegiate quarterback at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. His passion for sports never waned throughout his life. He remained a devoted fan and, in his later years, became a proud and vocal supporter of his son's athletic endeavors. If you were ever at a game or on the sidelines, you could count on Greg to be cheering, coaching, or giving his trademark encouragement to everyone around him.
Greg is survived by his beloved brothers Alex Jr (wife Debbie) Fetters and Jeffery Fetters, his two sons Kyle (wife Maria) Fetters and Jake Fetters, his two grandchildren Josephine and Alexandra Fetters, and his niece Kelsey (husband Justin) Weisgerber. He is also survived by a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will continue to celebrate his life and legacy. Greg was preceded in death by his parents Alexander Fetters and Loretta (Frawley) Fetters, along with his sister-in-Law Cammy Fetters.
A celebration of life will take place on January 19, 2025, at 12:00pm at Fun House Pizza located at 13002 E. US HWY 40, Independence, MO 64055. There will be a private burial service held at Mt Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
