Gregory Scott Buttorff, of Duluth, GA passed on unexpectedly to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the age of 39.  He was born on March 25, 1983, in Atlanta, GA to David Gregory Buttorff and Jeanne O'Reilly Banks. 

Scott grew up in Dunwoody, GA ,  graduated from Centennial High School,  attended North Metro Tech  and College of  Coastal Georgia.  

Scott had a natural talent for and love of sports – baseball, tennis, golf,  and fishing. He developed his love of baseball as a knockout pitcher and then cultivated a strong game of tennis.   When he wasn’t participating in sports, he was an avid spectator of his favorite hometown teams – the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. He was gifted with a creative mind and ability to draw.  Through his work in the restaurant business he discovered the joy of cooking.  He loved to make meals for friends and family, sharing his secret sauce or technique with great pride.

If you knew Scott, he was a gentle spirit that got along with everyone and had an infectious smile.  He enjoyed the simpler things in life many take for granted and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Scott is survived by his Mother, Jeanne O’Reilly Banks (Danny); Father, David Gregory Buttorff; Aunts Kathleen Otto (Richard), Karen Sharp, Stacie Sikes (David);  girlfriend Whitney Cargile, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held  at Frederica Baptist Church on November 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM.  Frederica Baptist Church is located at 65 Marsh's Edge Lane   St. Simons Island,  GA. 

Following the service, his ashes will be spread by the SEA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scott Buttorff Memorial Fund.
