I am stunned. I just read about Grant's passing in the FCS alumni magazine. I coached him in squash at FCS and will always remember him for his incredible, positive energy and that impish glint he had in his eye. We used to take a bus to Haverford College for middle school practice, and it seemed like on every ride, I had to turn around and ask Grant to turn down the volume because he was being loud and enthusiastic about whatever was on his mind. He was so funny and an incredibly bright kid who at a young age could discuss most any topic with some very well thought out ideas. My sincere condolences to his entire family. The world lost a very bright star last summer.

Grant made me laugh harder than anyone I've ever met. I never knew what he was going to do, and he turned stupid errands into hilarious adventures (like the Walmart run above). Gonna miss you, Grant.

I don't think I’ve ever laughed as hard as I did with Grant. I can’t believe he’s gone, but I’m so lucky to have known him for all these years. Rest easy, buddy.

Granty… these past couple of months, I’ve tried to describe you to so many people, but there’s never enough time to describe all of you. Your booming laugh. Your sweaty hugs. The nicknames you’d give over text (“funksquatch” always comes to mind). Your warm heart. Your otherworldly imagination. The fact that you named an entire sketch show “Jeff Does His Taxes” with absolutely zero backstory to the name. The countless times I saw you plummet onto a stage floor (often from an elevated platform) to the detriment of your body and to the sheer shock and laughter of everyone else in the theater. And of course, your unbelievable grip on language that made your comedy as intelligent as it was chaotic. Despite being the funniest person in every room you entered, your humor never felt competitive or praise-driven. It was simply your state of being, and a brilliant one at that.
Such a radiant, uncontainable human being you were. Love you and miss you buddy. What I’d give for you to plant a sloppy, surprise kiss on my face just one more time…
Your pal Bender❤️
