I’m heartbroken to see this news. I’m so extremely sorry that Grants life has been cut so short. My deepest condolences to his family.
I camped with Grant for two nights in camp 4 in May, upon his first arrival to Yosemite as a new employee. The group of us camping together, all shared stories of our passions for climbing (most of us 20 years+, his senior). And Grant eagerly asked questions and shared his experiences. He was sweet, humble, and so understandably excited about the big step of moving away from home and his summer just starting in Yosemite. I bet the month between then and now was probably one of the best of his life.

I'm a mom of a young man that also works at Yosemite for Aramark and has also started climbing there. This is truly heartbreaking and scary and I could not be sorrier for your entire family. Sending you peace and healing thoughts.

My daughter Lydia is close friend with his sister Ellie. Lydia shared with me how much Grant is similar to her brother and how much she respected and admired him. My heart , thoughts, and prayers for the whole Cline Family. ❤️🙏💐

Our daughter worked w Grant at Yosemite this summer and they’d become friends. She had told us what a wonderful person he was. We are so deeply sorry for your loss.

Whenever I went to Katherine Whites house parties which were some of my favorite memories, Grant would always be there to lighten the mood, and bring a positive energy to the room. He could be so unbelievably funny and kind and just drew you to him with no effort at all. He would come to her Christmas parties AND halloween parties as Elf😭I feel like all of those memories that I cherished couldnt have been as sweet as they were without Grant. Rest in peace buddy, you were an amazing person and an example to everyone around you:)

Grant was another kid to us. He spent so much time with London and was at our house all time, mostly showing up unexpectedly (in the best way). He was always a part of our family traditions (he didn’t get a choice in the matter). He has left such a hole in our hearts- we love and miss him infinitely.

There was one time in my sophomore year where grant and I were in french class together. The teacher didn’t really mind if we sat on the floor and I was having really bad cramps that day. As soon as i laid down on the floor grant laid down with me. I always appreciated how he never made me feel like the things I were doing were stupid and even if they were he’d never let me do them alone.

Last summer, I had the privilege of working with Grant. He called me personally and asked for an opportunity, and I’m so glad he did. He quickly became a valuable part of our team, running food for both our pools and The Apron restaurant.
What stood out most about Grant was his attitude—always positive, always upbeat. He brought great energy to every shift and never shied away from hard work. His work ethic was incredible, and he made a real impact in a short amount of time.
Grateful to have crossed paths with such a driven and kind young man.
