Grammy - Lori's obituary

Grammy
Lori Ann Vogt

A quote from Grammy:
"Working Mans Elizabeth Taylor. Do You Remember Her?"

Lori Ann Vogt also known as "Grammy" - Born March 30, 1934 in Los Angeles County, California. Lori was the second born daughter - a bright eyed, beautiful baby to her loving and religious catholic parents, Leonardo and Stella Apodaca. Lori's remarkable beauty carried with her throughout her entire lifetime, and more often than not, she would be stopped anywhere she went simply because of her confidence and glamour. Her striking allure was an attraction to many admirers during her 40+ year career duration as one of National Car Rentals premier associates at the Los Angeles International Airport terminal. Lori was an avid and lifelong supporter of her favorite local sports teams: The Los Angeles Raiders, and the UCLA Bruins - we can still hear her chanting at the television as if she were the coach on the field, calling all of the plays. Another deep admiration for Lori was professional tennis, particularly her favorite player, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, "Rafa" as she'd proclaim, "GO RAFA!" Lori knew all of the annual tennis tournaments in order and would recite them back to you very directly, as if she was trying to really lay the importance of the sporting event as a whole to you, "The tennis schedule goes in this order: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. I want my Rafa to win them all!" What couldn't go without mention as well, is Lori's taste for classic films - fan of Joan Crawford and Bette Davis; the two actors tied for her favorite - you could catch her anytime enjoying, "Mildred Pierce" or "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" on TCM. Other hobbies of Grammy's included: crossword puzzles from her favorite magazines: People, US Weekly, Star, Globe, National Enquirer, and keep in mind, she really only enjoyed those magazines for the crossword puzzles (a master of any - you could hand Grammy a 200 page crossword puzzle book, and she would finish it in one day just to prove how wise she truly was), reading mystery and unsolved crime novels, practicing yoga, and chewing on her absolute favorite, bubble gum. Grammy was and always will be remembered for her "Hollywood" like persona. She loved movie-stars, and in our most humble opinion, she easily could have and should have been one. It seemed like her true destiny. Nevertheless, Grammy lived a life that she wanted to live, a pioneer for individuality, and she was fortunate to pass in the comfort of her own home, where she spent most of her time admiring her six great-grandchildren on a regular basis, which always brought her so much joy. For the simple fact that she left the earth as she had wished to go, we are very thankful to have had the time spent with her and the memories shared with her that will be passed on for generations and generations to come. Grammy is survived by her two daughters, Kerry and Kathy; seven grandchildren, Melanie, Amber, Corey, Justin, Courtney, Ashley, and Kevin; and six great-grandchildren, Noah, Raina, Alina, Olivia, Mila, and Rory.
