The Graham we knew best always had a skip in his step, whether he was jumping a brook as a child in the Alps or running the village streets with Nicaraguan children, he was always laughing and playful. As an adult, he still had that same chuckle and silly grin at the peak of a 14er in Colorado when a sudden electricity and hail storm hit as he was gleefully catching the excitement on the GoPro. He laughed out loud when he suddenly realized his stick could be a lightning rod and laughed all the way running down the mountain being pummeled with hail. Graham found humor in every situation and captured people with his outgoing personality and charm. His enthusiasm for every possible outdoor activity showed him living life to the fullest. Graham’s profound gratitude when things were turning out well for him will never be forgotten. We are so grateful that that is the Graham we knew and remember best, and we’re heartbroken not to see have experienced what might have become of his future here with us.

I think this photo was taken around 1998. Graham was like the brother I never had and I will always cherish the years we had growing up together. He taught me how to play Sega, catch lightening bugs and frogs, and how to not be afraid of fireworks. He continued to be a true friend to me as a young adult and always made me feel loved, seen, and supported. I hope he is hiking all the trails he has ever dreamed of right now.
