Grace Mello, a devoted wife, mother, and social worker, passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 93.
Born in Ohio on February 28, 1931, to Alice and Wilbur Holmes, Grace grew up with a strong foundation of love and values. She married her high school sweetheart, William (Bill) Mello, and started a family. They welcomed four sons, and as a devoted mother, she dedicated herself to raising them.
The family moved to California, where Grace continued to prioritize her family while pursuing her own education. After her youngest son went off to college, she completed her schooling and became a social worker in Orange County, California, making a meaningful impact on her community until her retirement at 69.
Grace was renowned for her loving and nurturing nature, with a heart of gold. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In her free time, Grace nurtured her many passions. She lovingly tended to her rose garden, enjoyed the smooth sounds of Frank Sinatra, and delighted in watching favorite TV shows like "The Price is Right," "Let's Make a Deal," and
"90 Day Fiancé." A talented singer, Grace would often share her beautiful voice with family and friends. She was also an avid cook and baker, whipping up delicious treats for loved ones.
Grace looked forward to playing Bunco with friends once a month. Her sharp mind was always active, and she loved challenging herself with crossword puzzles and word searches. Grace's love for reading was evident in her impressive book collection, which she read through at an incredible pace, always seeking the next compelling story.
After a lifetime of love and devotion, Grace is finally reunited forever with her soulmate, Bill. She is also survived by her four loving sons, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, who will deeply miss her love, guidance, and presence.
