Glynn's obituary

Glynn Allred Hartt, born June 1, 1955, peacefully departed this life on December 17, 2024.  A man of many sterling qualities, he was a devout Christian, warm, loving, funny, selfless, attentive, faithful, wise, and a dedicated family man. A  lover of music, particularly rock'n'roll, his talent playing the guitar dubbed him the well earned nickname,  Glynyrd Skynyrd.  Above all, he was empathetic, honorable, and righteous.

Glynn leaves behind his beloved daughter, Jessica Sampson, who will forever cherish her father's memory. His teachings — to put God first, stand up for what is right even when outnumbered, always do the next best thing, be kind to others, generous to those in need, and true to self — will continue to guide Jessica throughout her own life.

During his lifetime, Glynn reached significant milestones including graduating from Timpson High School, Class of 1973,  a joyous marriage of 33 years to his late wife, Iwana Hartt, retiring from Stephen F Austin State University in 2016,  and his unwavering faith and walk as a saved believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His legacy serves as a firm reminder that a life well lived is measured in the works and service done for others, not in the things we leave behind.

A funeral service to celebrate Glynn's life will be held on Saturday January 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, Nacogdoches, TX, where he was a member and served in the Praise Band.

Glynn Hartt-- a loving father, loyal brother, devoted husband, and cherished grandfather was truly one of a kind. While his earthly presence may have passed, his teachings, love, and the great character he demonstrated will forever persist in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.
