Gloria Maria Mader, a woman known for her radiant spirit, boundless love, and strong faith, passed away on November 8th surrounded by family, just two days after her 77th birthday. She is now home in heaven after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, her two daughters Anna (Andrew) Hansen and Brooke (Paul) Ganev, and her four grandchildren Tony, Caleb, Hendrix, and Raya. Preceded in death by her mother and father, Anna Stella Dorrett and Kenneth Brooks Taliaferro, her brother Bobby Taliaferro, her son Adam Constantinides, and her granddaughter Lily.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Gloria grew up surrounded by a large and vivacious family. With her mother being one of ten siblings, Gloria quickly became a guiding figure for her many younger cousins, who admired her nurturing and protective nature. This role as a caretaker was a defining thread throughout her life.

Gloria was a woman of many talents and passions. She co-founded Barter Systems Incorporated with her first husband, Perry Constantinides, and later established her own business, Gloria’s Daycare, where she lovingly cared for and helped raise countless children for over 25 years. She was a gifted artist, known for her remarkable talent in everything she touched—from her artwork and impeccable sense of design to her ability to nurture plants, always turning her spaces into something extraordinary.

Gloria’s vibrant personality gave her a magnetic presence. She was always the first on the dance floor, moving with the style and grace that defined her life. Her kindness was infectious, and she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and a warm heart. Gloria had a way of making people feel special — whether through a thoughtful gift or preparing your favorite meal — you’d never leave her side empty handed or hungry. Her home radiated warmth and love, leaving everyone who entered feeling valued and cared for.

Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every challenge with hope and resilience. She believed in the power of love and lived each day with gratitude and strength. Gloria’s determination knew no bounds—if she set her mind to something, it would be done with care and excellence.

Gloria will be deeply missed, but her love, light, and faith will continue to shine through all the lives she touched.
