Gloria MacNab, born on April 30, 1938, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024. A beloved woman of kindness, caring, and love, Gloria's life was filled with devotion towards her family, friends, and passion for her work. Her legacy of kindness and her enduring love will resonate in the hearts of all who knew her and will continue to inspire future generations.
She is survived by her loving children; daughters, Angela Closs, Veila Gravel, and son, Doug Closs. Her sister, Wilhelmina Wares and grandson, Aiden Wallace also survive her. Gloria was predeceased by her father James Nelson, her mother Leona Nelson, and her husband Gerry MacNab.
Over her lifetime, Gloria held various demanding roles, from being a school teacher in 1957 to becoming the Secretary to the Mayor of Georgina in 1986. No matter the duties of her roles, she tackled them with grace and dedication.
Gloria had an optimistic personality and a taste for simple joys. She held a soft spot for pizza and cherished a good cup of coffee. Music by Elvis often filled her home, while game shows offered her regular amusement. She found solace playing solitaire and delighted in working in her flower gardens. Gloria’s favorite vacation spot was Mexico, where she enjoyed the vibrant culture and sunny beaches.
The color baby blue epitomized her serene and comforting presence. Gloria was a woman who sprinkled kindness and love wherever she went. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. Her spirit will continue to live on through her family's stories, laughter, and love.
