Gloria's obituary
Gloria Lopez-Homen, age 60, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, with her family by her side in Reston, VA. Gloria was born on April 28, 1965, in El Paso, Texas to Olga Cordero and Alfonso Lopez. She was preceded to heaven by both parents.
Gloria's memory will continue to be cherished by her daughter Tess Homen, and her stepsons Rogan Homen (Alex) and Trace Homen; her sisters Virginia Prieto (David), Mary Stohr (Mauricio), Aida Cazares (Swami), Lisa Cazares, Darlene Sanchez (Alex), and brothers Alfonso Lopez Jr. (Susana), and Orlando Lopez (Marie); 12 nephews, 7 nieces, 4 grandnephews and 3 grandnieces.
Gloria began her public service career in 1988 with the IRS before transferring to the U.S. Secret Service in 1996. She became a Special Agent in 1999, a role that took her across the globe—including a five-year post in Madrid and 7 additional assignments. After retiring in 2022, she continued her dedication to meaningful work at Arcfield until her passing.
Gloria was an amazing woman who never met a stranger, always had a smile to share, and loved her faith in God and family, always making them a priority. She enjoyed Broadway shows, reading, traveling, her red lipstick & nail polish, and felt that she had lived a blessed life. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
