A Legacy of Service and Selflessness
Glenn’s heart for serving others shaped his life's work. A straight-A student, he pursued his calling by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Rutgers University. He dedicated his career to caring for the most vulnerable as a staff member at Dooley House, a pioneering care facility for HIV and AIDS-affected infants in New Jersey. Starting as an aide, he rose to a supervisory position, demonstrating exceptional leadership, compassion, and diligence—until a leg injury ended his time there.
Even beyond his professional role, Glenn was a true servant leader, offering his time, wisdom, and resources to those in need. He dedicated himself to mentorship and education, teaching adults how to read while also humbly learning computer literacy in return. He financially supported his nieces and nephews, especially celebrating his nephew Drew’s achievement of graduating first in his class.
His loud, loving, and laughter-filled presence was a cornerstone of his family. He was unapologetically expressive, filling every room with warmth and joy. His commitment to faith, family, and service was evident in his acts of kindness and generosity.
A Heart That Overflowed With Passion and Joy
Glenn was not just a caregiver and mentor—he was a man of passion and joy. His love for horses was lifelong and deeply personal. From his childhood, he felt a unique bond with these majestic creatures, appreciating their strength, grace, and intelligence. Whether riding, grooming, or simply being in their presence, Glenn found freedom, solace, and exhilaration in their company.
His boisterous laughter, as lovingly recalled by his cousin Bethann West James, was a signature trait that could fill a room. Glenn never spoke in whispers—his presence was bold, joyful, and unforgettable. He carried with him an energy that lifted others, always eager to connect, reminisce, dance, and engage in deep conversations.
Beyond his love for family and faith, Glenn was a phenomenal cook, a devoted lifelong fan of Aretha Franklin, and an enthusiastic supporter of his loved ones’ dreams and ambitions. He absolutely loved Tap’s legendary lasagna, a meal that brought him comfort and joy.
A Life Anchored in Faith
Glenn’s journey led him to a profound spiritual awakening, and on February 11, 2018, he made the life-changing decision to be baptized. His faith became his foundation, guiding him as he mentored others and encouraged them in their spiritual walk. His belief in God’s love and grace was evident in every aspect of his life, from the way he cared for the elderly to the way he uplifted those who felt unseen and unheard.
