Mattie's obituary

Mrs. Glenda Burns Richardson, age 76, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, August 2, 2021, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Mt. Vernon all of her life. She was a 1963 graduate of Montgomery High School, worked at Ailey Manufacturing for twenty years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Long Pond Baptist Church; and she enjoyed her grandchildren, shopping, and antiquing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Richardson; parents, Duren Burns and Glenzie Ola Gibbs Burns; one sister, Colleen Burns Wright; and one brother, Edward Burns.   

Her family includes three children, Julie R. Cook and Massie McIntyre of Vidalia, Patricia R. Powell and husband Jerry of Mt. Vernon, and Artie Brent Richardson and wife Andi of Warner Robins; five grandchildren, Chase Dupree, Thomas Richardson, Andrew Kaden Richardson, Alex Richardson, and Avery Richardson; two sisters, Sylvia B. Fowler and husband James of the Long Pond Community, and Ann Pickle of Glenwood; one brother, David Burns and wife Caroline of Mt. Vernon; one sister-in-law, Caroline Richardson of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews. 

 The funeral service was Wednesday, August 4th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
