Glen's obituary
Age 57, Glen got his wings and rode through the Heavenly skies above on March 24, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Glen was born October 11, 1962, In Everett, WA., to Donna M. Perry (Rubymae) and Rodney A. Schaler. He lived in the Okanogan area for over the past 20 years.
He is survived by his four loving sons, Glen (Gabby) Preuss, Jake Alefteras, Rodney Schaler (Kathryne Smith), Alex Schaler and Eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Glenda Gallaway, Geff & Bobbie Schaler, Patricia Palmer, Teddy & Teddie Hederich, and his baby sister, Shannon Hederich, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends.
Glen had a Machinist degree, worked as a Hulk Hauler and a mechanic for many years. He partially retired at an early age, and spent his time raising his two youngest sons, Rodney and Alex. To all of his Sons, He loved being your Father. His greatest passion in life was “His Boys”. He loved his sons more than words can say. His favorite words to hear was “I Love you too, Dad”.
Next to his sons, Glen loved to ride his Harley! He found his peace and happiness in life, with his Harley and Motorcycle club. He rode as much as he could, until cancer took part of his eyesight away to where he could no longer ride.
Glen loved to Fish and work on motors. I don’t think there was ever a day we didn’t see grease on his hands. This all started when he was a toddler. He could take things apart, fix them, put them back together or invent something new!
Of course, Glen lived life on his terms. There was only one right way to do things, and that was his way, we still joke about that! There is even an example about Glen in the law books now, and how he won a court case.
Glen was a very strong-minded person with a big Loving heart. You would only know it if you knew and loved him and saw him on the inside. He was a very intelligent man with a heart of gold with a vision of going further than anyone before. He will deeply be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
A special thanks for all the staff at Central Washington Hospital, Wenatchee, WA. They all did a tremendous job with our Beloved Glen. They took extra special Care of him, and made him comfortable as possible, above and beyond there call of duties. A special Thank you to Chaplain Scott, whom gave Glen and our family many moments of comfort.
Service and Celebration of life (which will be located in Soap Lake, WA) to be announced at a later date, after the Covid19 world crisis, allows us to.
