Glen's obituary
Glen Hambro, born September 4th, 1959, grew up in the Hedgerow Woods neighborhood of Morrisville, PA. He graduated from Pennsbury High School, Class of 1977 continuing to pursue a degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University, graduating in 1981. Glen received a job offer from IBM by the time he graduated, and built a life with his former spouse, Kathy, and two daughters, Mollie and Glenna, in Poughkeepsie, New York. After several years he was recruited by INRANGE, transplanting his family to Medford, New Jersey. Glen later settled back to his roots in Levittown, Bucks County, PA. He enjoyed his career in electrical engineering and later explored certification in HVAC, where his problem-solving skills could be utilized in a more hands-on way with the onset of the digital age. He then returned to engineering and traveled internationally as a program manager.
His many hobbies over the years included but were not limited to: inline skating, hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, trips to the driving range, taekwondo, yoga, beer brewing, candle and furniture making, fishing, playing drums and any genre of music at maximum volume, and one relatively consistent above all -- riding his motorcycles. Finally, in 2020 Glen retired with the goal of enjoying a new home and traveling cross country. Most recently over the last two years, he cared for his parents.
Glen would enthusiastically and affectionately call his loved ones “KID!”. He reveled in sharing his passions and knowledge with everyone he knew – many considered him a “human calculator” and he was well known for his incredibly long text messages and in-depth explanations on a variety of topics. He certainly seemed to live a thousand lives, discovering new interests and ways of reinventing himself along his many journeys.
He is survived by his two daughters, Mollie Hambro (Chris Stocking) of Cleveland, OH, and Glenna-Kate Hambro (Dylan McKinney) of Hainesport, NJ, his brother, Roger Hambro (Karen) of Sewickley, PA, his nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Jay and Doris Hambro, his Uncle Phil (Philip) Hambro and long-time companion, his beagle Precious.
