Background
Gladys loved all her family members equally. Yet, like the rest of us, she shared a special concern for Great Granddaughter, Haven. Although miraculously mighty, Haven is faced with the challenges of Trisomy 18 or Edwards Syndrome. Haven is tough and she's quite a fighter. In spite of being medically fragile, she'll be 3 years old in August. Sometimes Haven needs more medical intervention than is covered by insurance. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, you can donate to Haven Bower for her medical supplies, Physical, Occupational, Speech & Developmental Therapies or expense of equipment and assistive devices not covered by insurance. A portion of funds collected in Gladys's honor will be donated to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Haven spent time in their PICU in January 2017 for life saving treatment of RSV instead of attending Uncle Jamie and Aunt Alyssa's wedding. In August 2018, we celebrated Haven's 1st Birthday with a big party. In lieu of gifts for her, friends and family gave new toys, books, games and craft supplies that were donated to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL.
