Gladys's obituary

Gladys Carolina Acuña, was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world after a long fearless battle with COVID-19 at the age of 51.

She was born to and raised by her wonderful parents Margarita Diaz and Jose Diaz on September 26, 1969 in San Salvador, El Salvador. She was 9 years old when they migrated to the United States to reside and begin a prosperous new life in Los Angeles, California. It was at the young age of 14 when she met the love of her life Jesus Acuña, and after a lovely 6 year courtship, they wed on May 5, 1989 in San Fernando, California, and by the catholic church on June 22, 1996 in Dallas, Texas.

Gladys loved spending time with her family. There wasn't a single event that she would ever turn down because she believed in valuing the moments you have with your family, and living life with them to the fullest. She was ambitious, courageous, strong willed, and fashionable. Just like she attended every family event, you could always guarantee she shopped for new things to wear to all events. That was one of her favorite things to do for her family - to dress them for every occasion because she always said it was a reflection of her and how well she took care of her family. Music was her passion. It was one of her life lessons and traditions with her daughters, to drive around with music blaring, while singing and dancing. It was always their peace, happiness, and remedy to all things. Music cured all things in her book, and to share that with her daughters was the epitome of her happiness. Alongside her daughters, her husband was her rock and best friend. One of the most beautiful things she said about her life and what she loved most, was watching her husband be an incredible father to their daughters. To her that was perfection, and she was never afraid to say it.

Her husband and daughters were her entire world. If there was ever a dream, or a need, you could always count on her moving mountains to make it happen. She made it her life's mission to provide and support her husband and daughters dreams. Most recently, she and her husband moved into their forever dream home - a beautiful two story home on two-acres so she could have her garden, watch her husband fulfill his dream of riding his horses on their land, and having a home big enough for her children and grandchildren to live in whenever they wanted, along with being the home for all the family parties. She fulfilled her dreams, and the dreams of her husband and daughters perfectly. There is not a thing she left undone and that was exactly how she wanted it.

She is survived by her loving husband Jesus Acuña, her daughters Khrystine Acuña-Nguyen, and Jennifer Acuña, her mother Margarita Diaz, father Jose Diaz, sisters, Aura Chacon, Marnie Diaz, Leslie Flores, grandchildren, Tri Nguyen, Haden Nguyen, Luna Nguyen, and son-in-law, Lam Nguyen.
