Ginger's obituary
Ginger Lee Bingham Champion , age 65, formerly of Mt. Dora, lost her fight against cancer & Heart disease, suffering a major attack March 21. She Died with her daughter, Christina Champion Gonzalez, of Mt. Dora, and, Sister Donna Bingham Goodwin of Leesburg, at her side. She had battled many health issues in recent years .
Born Nov. 29, 1958 in Bloomington, In., Ginger was to become an outstanding student, involved in Girl Scouts, 4-H as well as farm chores at home. Receiving many awards and scholarships, she graduated from Franklin College, pursuing interest in art, economics & business. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and the French club.
After some world travels, she settled in Mt. Dora, meeting Thomas Mark Champion while teaching at the Lake County Community College. She married Mark (now deceased) and became proud parents of Christina Lee. After their separation, Ginger resided primarily in Orlando doing accounting and tax work for several years.
Ginger’s infectious laughter and great sense of humor, will be long remembered. A life long Christian, she now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. She will be so missed.
Survivors include daughter Christina Champion Gonzalez (Sergio); grandchildren Mariah Gonzalez and Christian Gonzalez. Caregiver and devoted friend, Eddy Reed.
Sisters Jo Ann Bingham, Napa Valley, Ca., Donna Bingham Goodwin (Duane); brother Tom Bingham , Greensboro NC; Grandmother Irene Bingham , Franklin, In.; and Aunt Jeanette Stevens, Inglewood, Fl. There are numerous nephews and cousins and other family members . She was pre-deceased in death by her parents.
She is being cremated. Some of her will be spread with family in Indiana and also in Switzerland where she spent some of her life. She will stay with her daughter in Mt. Dora, Fl.
