Gina's obituary
Gina was born on July 16th, 1947 to the late Pauline Karpenko in Salzburg, Austria under the name Zinaida Karpenko. After graduating from high school, she went on to study education at Kent State University in Ohio.
At Kent State University, she met Kurt Valley, and they went on to have 3 children, Michael Richard Valley, Mona Nadine Gang and Elizabeth Ann Valley.
Gina worked as a teacher for the Los Angeles school district after college. Afterwards, while her children were growing she became an entrepreneur and ran a childcare center. Later on as her children grew up, she transition to working at Barnes and Noble as a second career.
After retiring from Barnes and Noble in 2012, Gina liked to spend her time reading, traveling and gardening.
Gina was predeceased by Kurt Valley and Elizabeth Valley. She is survived by her two children, Michael Valley and Mona Gang; her two grandchildren, Michael and Steven; her brother Leonard Karpenko; several nieces and nephews.
