Mike,....You were her champion, from the very beginning of her care you're extrodinary efforts to locate the best oncologist (even if you had to track her down in Japan),the dedication to be with Gina at her medical appointments--she never felt alone , each step she had to take you took them with her...thank you Mike for giving her more time and hope, this was a gift you also gave to us who love her and still cannot believe we won't see her face smiling at us and telling us how much she loves us. I cherish the friendship, our spiritual connection (from the very first day I saw her as her new visiting teacher), at that time she was going through a divorce , as tough as that got she was never unkind towards him, that's quite remarkable, as was our Gina...her strength was drawn from the very personal relationship she has with her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ...her smile lit up her whole face and our hearts. Mike, she loved you and Jennifer very, very much....and was appreciative of the very thoughtful and loving care and the time , so much of your precious time both of her children gave and spent with her. Thank you both........Lella Altwies
Your mother was one of my dear friends. We were in each other's homes countless times over the years--laughing and crying together. Gina has such a loving heart and spirit. She lifted and helped me through many difficult times. She has a brilliant mind--was so knowledgable in so many areas. And she dearly loved her children, often talking about you both in glowing terms. She was so proud of you. You were blessed with a marvelous mother whom we all miss greatly. Love forever, Hedy
