We went on a walk this morning to clear our heads and the first thing we saw was a polar ice gum package. Similar to Tiffany, I remember the smell of that gum so vividly and connect it to the times I’ve spent with Aunt Gina, especially when I was younger. I miss the hugs that I got from her every family function. I can still feel them today and could use one right now. This has been one of the hardest losses for me, because we didn’t have time to prepare and I couldn’t be there for her, my mom, and my cousins. I know that she would want every one of us to continue moving forward like we are doing and remember all of the fun memories with her. I am just overwhelmed with joy that she was able to see the new baby. She was able to have such an amazing life with many vacations and family by her side and that is something to celebrate!

My heart goes to her family and friends. I am truly lucky to be friends with Alyssa! I am here for you all! We went to school together and I remember meeting her mom back when we had our choir concerts at school. Her mom is so wonderful and I’ll always remember how sweet she was to everyone. Also her loving sense of humor, she always made sure everyone was having a good time. Her smile always lit up a room ❤️
I will always remember staying over at her house, my siblings and I quietly sneaking into her office to take a piece of gum, trying not to get caught. It was such a small thing. Even now, every time I taste Polar Ice gum, I’m taken back to those days. The way she was always chewing gum, every smile revealing a piece tucked between her teeth. Some memories don’t fade, they just live on in the smallest details.
