Gil's obituary
Along with his parents, Gil is reunited in passing with his brother, Roland Dube; & sister, Gisele Durepos.
Gil was an incredibly hardworking, gentle man who was a skilled carpenter for over fifty years that generously & patiently taught that gift to many. He actively volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and the Helping Hands Church Service Project with the cleanup of the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy. Above all else, Gil loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by so many for his selflessness, being a gentleman, his sense of humor, loyalty, stellar work ethic the love he had for his wife and his sweet tooth that always craved a doughnut.
Left to cherish Gil's memory are his adoring wife Mrs. Maryann Dube of Murrells Inlet SC; his siblings, Mrs. Pauline Page of New Brunswick Canada, widow of Bie Page; Mr. Rodrigue Dube and wife Carmen of Glendale Heights Illinois; Mrs. Chislaine (Jackie) Groelle and husband Harlan of Grayslake Illinois; Mrs. Parise Godbout and husband Louis (Valere) of Bristol Connecticut; Mrs. Patricia Dube of Lombard Illinois, widow of Leo Dube; Mr. Roger Dube and wife Jocelyne of Bristol Connecticut; Mr. Donald Dube and wife Anne of New Brunswick Canada; Sister-in-law Yvette Dube of New Brunswick Canada widow of Roland Dube; Brothers in-law, Allen Thibodeau and wife Karen, of Prospect CT; William Thibodeau of Middlebury CT; two loving step-children, Kristin Miller of Watertown CT & Jaime Delgado of Chicago IL; Four loving step granddaughters, Kylie of Newington CT, Marlo, Beckett & Georgie of Chicago IL & his adoring dog, Lucy; cat, Sammy, as well as a multitude of loving nieces, nephews and cousins; a large extended family and many supportive friends, neighbors and previous co-workers who loved him like family. He also loved you all.
The family wishes to acknowledge, with heartfelt appreciation, the expert level of care, compassion and love shown to Gil, by Amedisys Hospice, especially, Angela, John, Jenn & Alicia. & Fr. Orlando of St. Michaels Church May God Bless you all.
The family would also like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated neighbors & friends for their selfless help, support & many prayers during these past difficult months.
A Celebration of Gil's Life Luncheon Buffet will be held on Sunday August 15, 2021 at 1:00-5:00 PM at Woodlake Village Clubhouse, 155 Woodlake Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
