Kitchen Conversations, My Recollections

Gigi…

Most of our conversations took place in the kitchen at work (the thoughts make me smile)

Nine years of warm greetings, warm hugs, warm wishes, warm feelings, and warm food

We shared our personal feelings, we shared our passions, and we shared recipes

You are one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting, and to know you is to love you

Thank you for your presence in my life

I will miss you, but will never forget you

Thank you, Gigi, for being here and for being you

During her last 5 days,time felt slower, and every moment was fragile.

Laura and I stayed by her side, holding her hand,witnessing her quietly leave this world.

I put my phone to her ears, and Journey’s “Open Arms” played , filling the room with love and memories . A song that she loves

On October 26 @ 10:50 am She left in peace,We were there with her, and she was not alone. 😢😢 This has been hard times. She always gave so much unconditional love to everyone, to every animal, even to plants.

At farmer’s markets, she would take the tomatoes at the bottom,the ones that were bruised or overlooked, because she knew they deserved care too.

We have such a good life together —We met in 1994 in Sol y Luna restaurant in SF we dance all night . We had a life full of love, travel, cooking, art and so much laughing.

We worked at Wells Fargo together. We became fast friends on Day 1 and we had the best time hanging out, and laughing at life. She was there to comfort me when my husband passed. She relished in preparing beautiful meals and just was so sweet and nurturing. We lost touch but we knew we could pick right back up at any time. She was a very wonderful and kind hearted friend. Loved her.
