With profound sadness, we mark the passing of Gerard "The Don" Woodrum, affectionately known as Ronnie, who transitioned from this life on June 4, 2025. Born on September 23, 1970, Gerard was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend a man whose legacy continues to resonate through the lives he touched and the music he helped shape.
Gerard was a man of inspired vision, heart-led compassion, relentless commitment, and unshakable resilience. His authenticity and generosity of spirit made him a trusted presence in the lives of many, a beacon of wisdom and unwavering support. Whether you knew him as a family member, mentor, colleague, or friend, you knew someone deeply grounded in purpose and passion.

An incredible music collector (record digger), DJ, and music producer
Instrumental in keeping Morgan State’s WEAA Strictly Hip-Hop show on 88.9 alive in the late 1990s and early 2000s
A familiar name across Baltimore, spinning at countless clubs, bars, and private events
An accomplished sound and lighting engineer, who owned and operated several recording studios since the ‘90s
A pioneer of Baltimore club music, and a foundational producer who helped shape its early sound
A mentor to countless artists, instrumental in the development of rappers, singers, DJs, and creatives across generations
Gerard's impact on the city’s soundscape and its emerging talent cannot be overstated. He didn’t just produce music he nurtured movements. He didn’t just engineer sound he built soundtracks to people’s lives. His love for music was infectious, and his entrepreneurial drive inspiring.
Gerard is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved eldest daughter Amira Woodrum, his father Purcell Woodrum, and his mother Saundra Woodrum. Their memories live on in our hearts and are now lovingly embraced in the presence of one another.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stacy Seward-Woodrum, his two cherished daughters Kaelyn Woodrum and Kameron Woodrum, his sister Letrese Holmes, his nieces Latisha Holmes, Keturah Holmes, and Aleah Holmes, and great-nephew Elijah and great-niece Kylah, along with a host of extended family, close friends, and musical collaborators who carry forth his spirit and legacy.
We look back on Gerard’s life with admiration and deep gratitude for the love he gave, the legacy he leaves behind, and the rhythm he imprinted on our hearts. May his life continue to inspire, and may his music live on.
