I had the honor of knowing Jerry for the last few months and in that short time, his positivity and kindness left a lasting impact on me. I'll always remember his cheerful voice and the joy he brought to every interaction. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. Rest peacefully, Jerry, knowing you've touched so many lives with your gentle spirit.
Jerry was special and thoughtful. May his light continue to shine. Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford

I first met Jerry when I interned for Nancy and Barbara at the Late Show during the Fall of 2003. During my first 6 months as an intern and later a page, Jerry and Ann Marie often overpaid me to babysit Quinn and their new (I’m pretty sure) Norwich Terrier pup so that I’d have something to survive on in the city. When my time at the Late Show was finished, Jerry was the only adult in my life to suggest that I should absolutely stay in NYC, which led to 20 years in the city I love the most.

He had the ability to make so many people feel worthy and powerful. Thanks partially to Jerry, I went on to work with a lot of successful New Yorkers. Jerry remains the most grounded, wise, and caring “embodiment of the New York spirit” that I’ve met.

A view behind Jerry during rehearsal for Garth Brooks: Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. A magical show - recorded one week before the world shut down in 2020. Masterfully directed by our friend.
