A pleasure knowing Jerry. Drove cross-country together summer of 1977 to Southern California in his Mustang. Great memories...

Hi my name is Harry Coyle I am friends with the Foley family for over 40 yrs.I was in Hilton Head visiting family and we were sitting around giving stories about different things that have happened to us over the years,My sister in law is Louise{Riccardi} Coyle she was friends with Jerry back in teen age years.During one of there conversation Louise mentioned that she loved the wooden shoes from Holland. Some time goes by and Louise received one wooden shoe no note nothing to say where it came from.Years later 5+yrs go by and Louise received the other shoe nothing attached to it.So she keeps it now she has a pair.Time goes by and out of nowhere Jerry ask Louise if she received anything in the mail.He tells her he was the one who sent her them.It shows what a caring person Jerry was. Also shows Jerry sence of humor. As we are sitting around Louise leaves the room and comes back with the pair of shoes. She still had them 40 + yrs later.I'm sure this is one of many things Jerry did for his friends showing what a caring fun loving person that he was.He is missed by many.
God Bless Jerry and the Foley family

Jerry was one of the greatest guys I ever knew.  I feel like we "grew up"  together on the TODAY show.  He never missed a beat.  And he had such an even temper.  Nothing flustered him.l  He will be missed dearly.

Jerry and I were friends from the time our children entered the nursery threes class at The Town School. Over the years we shared countless joyous evenings together. He was the truest of friends. When I was putting together a collaborative music project based on a piece I had written after the Fukushima disaster in Japan, Jerry volunteered to film my chorus, and help with the editing. The project involved more than a dozen schools from Japan and America.
I expected to hand him my phone, and tell him when to start. Instead, he showed up at 8 o’clock on a Wednesday morning with a production crew from the Letterman show, including a crane! The administration was so stunned they didn’t have time to protest. Jerry was an unstoppable force. Without my asking, Jerry took the video with him and had it edited by the professional production team. He delivered it back into my hands a week later. Hundreds of students and teachers in Japan and America were the beneficiaries of his generosity. That story is just one illustration of the kind of friend he was. Creative, possessing a wonderful wit, boundless curiosity, and love of life.
I feel blessed to have known him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jerry’s passing. He was one of the greatest guys you could ever meet - I will treasure every single memory. A great loss to all but we are all better for having  him being on this planet. He was loved.Â

2023, Sheckfest. This was the last time I saw Jerry. We caught up and I bought him a beer. I’d like to echo what everyone said tonight because it was so true…Jerry was YOUR biggest fan! Rest in Peace.
