“Jerry”'s obituary
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Gerald David "Jerry" Stearns, a man of exceptional character and grace, who left us on March 15, 2024. Born in the year 1943, Gerald graced the world with his presence, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. While many knew him as Gerald, he preferred being called Jerry, a testament to a man who embraced his individuality. He served his country in Vietnam while being in the Air Force.
He left his loving wife Scherri of 41yrs, children Michelle deHart, Gerald Stearns, Chad Stearns, John Hixson, Nathan Hixson and Desiree Andrada; 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He loved his Oakland Raiders, Bowling (his league average was 192, we used to love going Dancing! Jerry loved going to the movies, he especially liked action films. His favorite was being with family and friends camping and fishing. He also used to love playing his guitar. He was a man of many talents and fun to be around!
Jerry’s life was a tapestry of lasting friendships, remarkable achievements, and an enduring legacy defined by his generous nature and unflinching integrity. His keen intellect was matched only by his warm and welcoming spirit, traits that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His was a life of service, genuine love, and tireless dedication. Jerry’s journey on this earth, although not without its trials and tribulations, was rich with satisfaction, happiness, and the joy of touching other people's lives.
As we bid farewell to Jerry, let us continue to celebrate his life. Let us remember the laughter, the wisdom, and the kindness he shared, reminding us of the deep humanity that we all share. He may have departed from this physical world, but his spirit and influence remain, giving comfort and inspiration to all who mourn his loss.
In parting, we hold on to the vivid memories of Jerry’s vibrant life, a beacon of light and a source of strength during our darkest hours. Despite our heartache, we take solace knowing that his journey was filled with purpose, and his life, a testament to the power of love and kindness. In our hearts, Gerald David "Jerry" Stearns will forever live.
